ROCK HILL, SC --- Ebony T. Hopson recently joined the staff of Rock Hill Housing serving as Asset Manager.
In this role, Ms. Hopson will oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned properties, including customer relations, eligibility, re-certifications, lease compliance, and office management. Ms. Hopson will manage the communities of Boyd Hill, Eastwood, Wilson Street, Rock, Hampton Street, and Great Falls.
Originally from Trenton, NJ, Ms. Hopson relocated to the Charlotte, NC area in August 2013. Ms. Hopson studied at Strayer University.
With over 12 years of experience, Ms. Hopson brings her Affordable Housing expertise to the agency. Prior to Joining Rock Hill Housing, Ms. Hopson served as the Admissions Officer for the Charlotte Housing Authority. In this role, Ms. Hopson managed the application process, interviewed applicants to determine eligibility, and issued housing vouchers to eligible families. Ms. Hopson also previously served as the Hearing Coordinator Clerk for New Jersey Dept. Of Community Affairs. In this role, Ms. Hopson provided clients with necessary resources, determined eligibility for housing assistance programs, and assisted the Hearing Officer with daily activities.
Ebony Hopson received additional training in Fair Housing Compliance from the National Affordable Housing Management Association.
Ebony Hopson has 2 children. During her free time, Ms. Hopson enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, reading, and traveling.

Since 1965, Rock Hill Housing has provided housing assistance for families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in the cities of Rock Hill and Great Falls. Rock Hill Housing has 369 public housing units and manages 589 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, for area landlords.
The mission of Rock Hill Housing is to provide safe, clean, affordable housing and effective social services to low- and moderate-income families and individuals. The Rock Hill Housing team of dedicated employees and Commissioners in partnership with their residents, utilize accepted business principles and all available resources to improve the quality of life for all participants. They encourage employment, self-sufficiency, and, where possible, assist in the transition to other housing alternatives.
